The Cry to be different

Our generation is in desperate need of hope. They are in need of meaning in life. They are in need of love. They are in need of God! Our generation is in desperate need of salvation. Our generation is not just in need of salvation though. Our generation is in desperate need of a difference. We are in desperate need of purity. We as Christians are called to reach our generation. We are called to be a light in the darkness. How are we supposed to reach people that we are just like? How are we supposed to get people saved when we do everything that they do? There is a cry to be different. A cry to not look, act or talk like the world but, to be different from the world. There is a cry to be separate from the world and a cry to be holy before God. To live lives pleasing to God, lives that bring honor to his name. We are called to be lights in this world. The world we live in today is already dark enough we don’t have to make it darker. We need to be the light and make it brighter. We need to shine bright in a world that has no hope at all. Our generation is out there many are unsaved and going to hell. They make choices every single day to end their lives or to totally mess up their lives. We as Christians need to be witnesses to them. How are we supposed to do that when we talk, act and dress just like the world? How are we going to be the lights in the world of darkness, when we have no light at all? As Christians we are the ones that are suppose to be the ones saving our generation. Sadly to many times we can’t save anyone because we are in need of saving our own lives. We are in need of hope ourselves. Or there is no difference between us and girl next to us in class. We let the same words out of our mouths as they do. We wear the same things are they do. We go partying just like they do. We listen to and watch the same things that they do. There is a cry, a cry for our generation to be different. It is time to be pure. It is time to stand up and not be just like the world. Jesus told us we are to be IN the world, but Jesus told us we are NOT to be OF this world. We are not called to cuss or dress immorally. It is not ok to listen to or watching just anything. No our works do not get us into heaven. But we should still be different. We should still have standards and not let anyone break them down for anything in the world. It is time as Christians to live lives that please and honor God. Its time to have lives that please our maker not lives that bring tears to his eyes. There is a cry out there for someone to stand up. There is a cry out there for someone to be different. Will we answer that cry? Will we stand up and be that person? Or will we just sit back and live like the world. There is a cry for our generation, a cry to be a different generation. We need to be a God honoring, God loving, Holy Ghost rocking generation. It is time to stand up and take our place. It is time to hear the cry and most of all it is time to be the answer.
