Pondering the High Cost of Sin

Pondering the high cost of Sin
When I was in 8th grade I took a sewing class and my teacher gave us a little piece of paper with this poem on it.

Sin will take you farther than you ever thought you’d go
Sin it will keep you longer than you ever thought you’d stay
Sin will cost you more than you ever thought you’d pay

All during high that paper sat above my bed it was a reminder to me to do good. It was a reminder to me that doing good is worth it, that sin doesn't pay, it only cost you. I have been thinking about sin lately and how much it really could cost me. I've looked at the lives of people I know and even look up to and thought about how much sin in their life has cost them.

I know people who lost their families, I know pastors who lost their churches, and I even know people who lost it all. Moses didn't get to go into the promise land because of sin. Sin led Judas to betray Christ, sin led Peter to dein him. Sin starts with just a choice. It can be a little thing. Sucide starts with just a little thought until it is feed and feed and then one day the person takes their life. Anorexia, starts with just alittle thought of how fat I am and then it builds and grows until into a big problem.

Girls wake up in bed with a guy they aren't married to, it didn't start the night before. It start by going too far and then going farther and farther until the moment came where they gave their greatest gift to a really big jerk.

School shootings happen all over this nation, those started with a thought and action and they have gone farther than those people ever thought. The sin has hurt more people than they ever thought.

Sin is harmful and if we don't watch it we can let sin in and before we know it, we turn around and wonder how we got where we are. Thats why it is so important that we stay in the word and stay in pray. We need to keep our spirits tender before God so that he can correct us when were wrong. It is also important to say in a local church and to be accountable to a body of believers. We live in a fallen world but we don't have to fall with it. We can overcome, we can live lives of victory and do all that God has called us to do!

Sin will take me farther than I ever could imagine. A little sin can grow more than I could ever think and take me places that I never thought I’d go. It will keep take father away from the plan of God from my life than I ever thought I would be.

Sin will keep me longer than I ever thought I’d stay. Sin will stay in my life and keep me in sin longer than I could ever think.

Sin will cost me way more than I thought I’d ever pay. It can cost me my life, my family, my integrity, my career, sin could cost me everything.
