Frailty of life
I found out today that my friend’s dad just died of cancer. He died three months after finding out that he had cancer. When she found out that her dad had cancer her grandfather also died of cancer that same weekend. My friend left college and got home only one hour before her father passed away.
Talking to her and hearing about all that has gone in her life. It has made me think. It has made me think about the frailty of life. People die every single day, every moment. One moment the people we love our here and one moment they with us no longer. Accidents they happened. People they get sick, they age and life it ends all too quickly.
So why do we not value life? Why is it that too many times we don’t see the value in life? Why is it that everyday more and more people commit suicide. They take their life because they see no value. They see no point in living any longer. Other people they take not their own life but the lives of others. They cut the lives of other people short.
Life is short. One moment you’re born and in what seems like a second your life is at its end. If makes me think, wonder what really matters. What is important in life?
God is important and living for him is so vitally important. People spend their lives living for tons and tons of things but many die unhappy and unfilled because nothing in this world can take the place of God in a person’s life. Life is short, it can be here one minute and gone the next. So we need to live every moment to the fullest possible, every moment of it for God! Take a moment today to think God for your life and determine to live your life for God!
